Mission

The Torrington Historical Society builds a sense of community and a foundation for the future through the preservation and understanding of our shared past. We do this by preserving the Hotchkiss-Fyler estate, the John Brown birthplace and with programs, tours, exhibits and collections that inspire an appreciation and knowledge of Torrington's history.

Vision

To inform and to inspire the community to develop a sense of history that links the past and the present and to be a destination heritage museum.
